"The coastal site Tvorminne is located in southern Finland on the Baltic Sea coast in the vicinity of the Tvorminne Zoological Station. The site is on an island approximately 25 m in east-west and 15 m in north-south direction. The island is 2 m at its tallest and comprises of bedrock with no vegetation. The island is in a semi-enclosed bay surrounded by the mainland in the west and north and islands in other directions. Distances over water between the islands are mostly 100-400 m and up to 2000 m in some areas."
