The forest has an open canopy structure and the tree stratum is dominated (92%) by European larch (Larix decidua Mill.) with sporadic (8%) Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.)) individuals (Oddi et al. 2022). Larch trees have no needles during dormancy, from early November to April/May. The understory is mainly composed by shrub species Land management interventions or serious disturbances have never occurred since measurements started in 2012. Continuous eddy covariance measurements of CO2 and H2O fluxes are carried out since 2012. Additionally, the forest site hosts a subcanopy eddy covariance system."],
