The EU-GPP daily estimates of gross primary production (GPP, gC m-2 d-1) across Europe at 300m spatial resolution for April 2016. EU-GPP is based on the light use efficiency framework with a biome-specific scalar modelling approach, allowing the model to capture the effect of temperature and water-related stresses on vegetation productivity. Further information on model development, validation, and evaluation is available in M. Zhang et al. (2026) (https://doi.org/10.3390/rs18172981).
This dataset supports Zhang, M., Wang, L., Jamali, S., & Tagesson, T. (2026). A Biome-Specific Light Use Efficiency Model for Spatiotemporal Dynamics of GPP Across Europe Using PROBA-V and Sentinel-3 FAPAR. Remote Sensing, 18(17), 2981. https://doi.org/10.3390/rs18172981.
NOTE: a scale factor = 0.1 has been applied to the GPP variable values in the netCDF file.
