The data is a subset of a global hourly dataset of NPP for 2010–2025, simulated using the LPJ-GUESS dynamic global vegetation model at 0.5° spatial resolution. It is generated by driving LPJ-GUESS (version 4.1, revision 14038) with time series inputs, including ERA5 climate forcing, atmospheric CO₂ concentrations, nitrogen deposition, and land-use data.

NPP is defined as the difference between GPP and autotrophic respiration, and measures the net production or accumulation of dry matter in plants over a period. Positive values are fluxes into the biosphere
