This archive file holds ancillary data for the paper Maier et al. (2026) "Can radon help to improve methane emission estimates? Results from a dual-tracer inversion" (in discussion at Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2026-739) and its accompanying dataset "CarboScope CH4-Rn inversion results for Europe in 2021" (https://doi.org/10.18160/HXMC-W51B). It contains three netCDF files containing 1) Modelled prior and posterior CH4 and Rn concentrations for 17 European observation sites in 2021 based on the Stochastic Time-Inverted Lagrangian Transport (STILT) model; 2) Results from sensitivity runs of the CarboScope-Regional CH4-Rn inversion to assess the impact of different Rn flux maps for Germany on the derived CH4 flux estimates; and 3) Results from sensitivity runs of the CarboScope-Regional CH4-Rn inversion to assess the impact of different Rn prior flux uncertainties and varying correlation coefficients between the CH4 and Rn model-data mismatch (MDM). Please see the enclosed README.txt file for more details.

We strongly recommend that whenever this dataset is used in further analysis and publications, the authors are contacted to assure proper use and interpretation.
