Accommodations are available at the station for intensive campaigns. The PUY station is measuring a complete set of in situ measurements of the gas (9 parameters) and particulate (11 parameters) phases at 1465 m, coupled with co-located RADAR, LIDAR and sun photometer measurements at its base (400 m a.s.l.).
OPGC/LaMP
Station is at the top of the puy de Dôme, in Orcines village. The summit of PUY is available all year round by train. It is also accessible by car, for authorized cars. It is possible to add a car in the list, if the matriculation is provided. In case of snow, the car must be equipped.

puy de Dôme, 63870 Orcines, France
The puy de Dôme Research Station (1465 m asl), central France, is located on the first mountain chain facing dominant western winds. Puy de Dôme is the highest point of the Chaîne des Puys, which comprises 80 volcanoes aligned north to south on a 3 to 5 km wide strip of land, a little over 45 kilometres in length. The station is exposed to an oceanic climate. It is surrounded by a protected area where fields and forests are predominant. The city of Clermont-Ferrand (150 000 inhabitants) is located 16 km east of the station at 396m asl. Previous work at the station shows that the influence of the city on the puy de Dôme measurements remains undetected and that the station is representative of the regional background (Asmi et al. 2011 ; Henne et al., 2010). During winter/spring time and all year during nighttime, LIDAR measurements show that the station lies in the free troposphere/residual layer and air masses are exempt from the influence of local pollution (Hervo et al. 2015). Dominating Land Cover Types in the 50km surroundings: Herbaceous Cover, closed-open 34.9 (%) Tree Cover, broadleaved, deciduous, closed 31.9 (%) Cultivated and managed areas 26.3 (%) Mosaic: Cropland / Shrub or Grass Cover 3.5 (%)
puy de Dôme has been labelled in 2015 as a global station of the WMO/GAW program. It is also part of ACTRIS European network, EMEP, AERONET, EARLINET.
