The station Bily Kriz, with ICOS code CZ-BK1, is located in the north eastern part of the Czech Republic. The site is a evergreen needleleaf forest dominated by Norway Spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) covering 99% of the investigated area with 1% addition of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.). According to FAO soil classification, soil type is haplic podzol, medium deep, sandy-clay (loamy-sand to sandy-loam) with high content of soil skeleton in the low layers.
