The area around the Berlin-Rothenburgstrasse station is a heterogeneous mix of streets, buildings and green spaces, making the station well-suited for greenhouse gas measurements in the city.
The station Berlin-Rothenburgstrasse (ICOS code DE-BeR) is part of the Urban Climate Observatory (UCO) Berlin, which is open and long-term infrastructure for integrative research on urban weather, climate, and air quality. Quality-controlled observations are carried in order to study the interaction between atmospheric processes and urban structures, as well as climate variability and climate change in urban environments.
