The station Graswang is located near the small village Graswang in the Ammer river catchment in the pre alpine region in the southern part of the German federal state of Bavaria. The site is situated on the relatively flat alluvial plain of the Linder river that is flanked by steep, mostly forested slopes (up to 1800 m a.s.l.). The species communities at DE-Gwg are dominated by Festuca pratensis Huds., Poa pratensis L., Prunella vulgaris L., Plantago lanceolate L., Knautia arvensis (L.) J.M. Coult., Pimpinella major (L.) Huds., and Trifolium repens L.. Species preferring more wet conditions, like Bistorta officinalis Delarbre and Polygonum bistorta L., are present.
