The Spreewald ecosystem site in North-East Germany is located around 10 km southeast of Lübben near the village of Alt Zauche (51.89225°N, 14.03369°E, 61 m a.s.l.). According to long-term observations (1971-2014) of precipitation and temperature provided by the DWD weather station Cottbus the mean, minimum and maximum annual precipitation are 559 mm, 345 mm and 799 mm, respectively. The long-term air temperature mean is 9.5 °C, the minimum and maximum daily mean values are -19.5 °C and 30.6 °C, respectively
