The Lompolojankka site (ICOS code FI-Lom) is a pristine minerotrophic wetland located in the municipality of Muonio in northern Finland, about 170 km north of the Arctic Circle. There is a stream in the middle of the elongated-shape mire. The shape of the open mire is rather elongated. The peat layer is up to 2.5 m thick and the open mire currently spans an area of c. 14 ha. The site has not been managed, but some freely wandering reindeer graze occasionally at the site in the summertime.
