The nemorose spruce forest, referred in Fluxnet as dry spruce stand is located on the upper part of a gentle east-exposed slope (<1°) with good drainage and Sod-podzolics soil. The organic layer is less than 5 cm. The water table is usually at a depth of 1.5m. The stand is unevenly aged (100–200 years old) dominated by Picea abies (55%) and Acer platanoides (23%) with secondary hardwood species. The understory is made up of young trees as well as Dryopteris filix-mas, Oxalis acetosella, Asperula odorata, Stellaria holostea.
