The tower is located in the Stordalen mire, on the border between a shallow lake (eastern sector) and a fen-type wetland (western sector). Fluxes come from one or the other ecosystem depending on wind direction. The wind flow regularly switches between two main directions. Suggestion to separate sectors: 20N-135N is full lake; 210N-330N is full fen. Note: some of the meteorological variables are specific to one sector and not the other.
