Equilibrator System seawater temperature water supply: hydrostatic, Ship's hull to Thermosensor (PT 100) distance: 0.05 m (in-line with Equilibrator system water supply)Important: configured for NO TIME LAG between TSG and Equilibrator System water supply !
Equilibrator System water supply: hydrostatic, Ship's hull to Equilibrators: pipe (1/2") distance ca. 3.5 m, flow rate ca. 2 - 2.5 L/min, distribution via peristaltic pump to the 2 equilibrators
TSG Water supply: pumped, Ship's hull to Equilibrators: pipe (2") distance ca. 3.5 m, flow rate ca. 20 L/min (with excess overflow),
The Ro/Ro Passenger Ship Finnmaid is owned by Finnlines and has been instrumented for ICOS as a joint effort of the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW) and the Finnish Environmental Institute (SYKE). It commutes between Lübeck (Germany) and Helsinki (Finland) in the Baltic Sea with a round-trip time of 3 days. The greenhouse gas measurments have been instrumented by IOW, with pCO2 measured since 2008, pCH4 since 2010 and pN2O since 2019. Other ocean variables measured by SYKE and IOW include temperature, salinity, fluorescence (Chl a), oxygen and pH.
